If you would like your horse evaluated for our services, we are more than happy to come to your farm, or you can bring your horse to us.
For when your horse just needs a quick "come-to" meeting of the minds, or if you're struggling with having them comprehend a difficult movement. Available to travel to your farm in some cases.
Please reach us at southwindsfarminc@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
If you prefer that your horse stays on their current feeding regimen, the price is reduced by $100 per 30 days. We do not allow any outside hay on the premises to avoid contamination of our paddocks and pasture.
Absolutely! You are more than welcome to visit or check on your horse while they are at our farm. We just appreciate a heads up so that we can make sure the gate is open for you, and we ask that you not remove them from their paddock without notifying us.
We will not mount any horses younger than three years old, as more and more studies are showing that young horses' skeletons are still incredibly soft and malleable, even up until five and six years of age. It is not a bad idea to lightly work horses from the ground before they are three to familiarize them with signals and exercising their minds, but strenuous work or carrying the additional weight of a rider is not something that we feel is ethical to ask of them before they are at least three years old.
