Our lesson plans start from the ground up. Whether you've got a horse-crazy kid that's eager to jump on and ride into the sunset, or you have a more timid child that has never laid eyes on a horse, we begin with the basics and move at the student's pace. Private lessons allow for the one-on-one instruction necessary for new students to get the ball rolling in the right direction.
Whether the student wants to trot over a few crossrails, gallop over a four-foot fence, or plod along on a trail ride, we emphasize proper riding technique and position over everything else. Safety is our #1 priorty, and improper riding technique is grossly unsafe. From Hunter/Jumper to Dressage to Eventing, and everything in between, proper position is the difference between a fun, safe ride on a horse and a sad, quick ride in an ambulance.
In the words of Winston Churchill, "There is nothing better for the inside of a man than the outside of a horse." Horses help teach lessons that are difficult to learn anywhere else. They help to develop strong character and a healthy work ethic -- two very important facets of a productive life. We use horses as a basis for our Life Management Skills program, a program that helps equip our students with the tools they need to achieve success in any area of life, not just horseback riding.
Private one-on-one instruction. Perfect for beginners just starting out or competitors looking for more personalized lesson plans.
Two students to a lesson. Great for friends wanting to ride together or students looking to move out of a private lesson without the pressure of a group.
A group of three to five students together. It is a perfect means of fostering some friendly competition and providing a way for peers to push one another to ride better.
Lessons are scheduled by the month, not individually.
